# Getting Started

> Create an account and an agent, and get a Hebo API key

Set up your first Hebo Cloud agent and get a Hebo API key. This guide uses **GPT-OSS 120B**, a **Free Tier** model that does not require provider credentials.

## Create an account

Sign in at [console.hebo.ai](https://console.hebo.ai) with GitHub, Google, Microsoft, or an email code.

On your first sign-in, Hebo creates an organization for your account.

## Create an agent

After your first sign-in, the console shows **Create a new agent**. To create another agent later, open the agent picker in the sidebar and select **Create Agent**.

Enter an **Agent Name**, for example `My First Agent`, select **GPT-OSS 120B** as the **Default Model**, and select **Create**.

Hebo creates the agent with a branch named `main` and a model alias named `default` that uses **GPT-OSS 120B**. A model alias is a name for a model configuration. In the app guides, you use the alias path as the model name.

## Copy the alias path

In **Models**, copy the **Alias path** from the `default` card.

An alias path looks like `my-first-agent-x7k/main/default`. Use the path from your console, not the example.

## Create a Hebo API key

1. In **API Keys**, select **Create API Key**. Enter a **Name**, choose an expiration period under **Expires in**, and select **Create**.
2. Copy the key and store it in a safe place. The console shows the key only once.

The key belongs to your organization and works with all of its agents. When the key expires, create a new key and update it in your apps.
